Reduce, Reuse, Recycle or (Upcycle)

Ok so since i've returned from my relaxing Christmas holidays, i have had quite a lot of work already. I guess long lies and tv time will be limited or non existent for the next few weeks.

We were given our new brief explaining what the next two weeks will involve for our short introduction into our main project. The project is called "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle". The title gives you an inclination of what it entails and seems to be a commonly used phrase throughout.

Its a total of roughly 12 weeks, and is by far the longest running project we have had to date. The main purpose of this 2 week introduction is to get us familiar with the ECO friendly way of working and get us designers introducing concepts that can work within this "new trend".

It has been split into two parts: One is for us to research a given topic within the main ECO groups and then prepare a presentation that will inform others about our findings. For the second part we have to use the information we gathered to create a design response in the form of a book, that will show the term "Upcycling"- something that has reached the end of its life cycle and so is used to create something with equal to or a higher value.
